If you create an artwork file with ArtStudio that contains images, a copy of the images are stored in the artwork file. If the images are large high-quality images, the artwork file will be large. That's ok unless you want to e-mail it to someone or display it on your website. ArtStudio allows you to change the size of the image and reduce the quality in order to greatly reduce the size of the artwork file? Here's what you should do:
1- Click on the Next Layer or Previous Layer buttons until the image you want to modify is the current layer.
2- Click on the Show/Hide Properties button on the left-hand side of ArtStudio to display the Layer Properties dialog.
3- Click on the Image tab.
4- Click on the JPG button to see the size of the image when stored in the JPG format and then click on the "eye" to see what it looks like.
5- As you adjust the quality, you will see what the image will look like and the size. This is where you trade size for quality.
6- Now this is important, the artwork file you are working on will always contain the original high quality image. The quality & size will not be applied until you select "Save for distribution" or save it as an E-mail Art.
If you select "Save for distribution" be sure to give it a unique name. This way you still have your original high-quality artwork file and the optimized version that you can e-mail to people.
