Sketch Studio is a drawing program designed for people who want to learn to draw on the computer. It has a simple interface, a limited number of brush options and is easy to learn. But just because the brush is limited does not mean you can't create incredible drawings (See below). The drawings you create can be saved as drawing files (.sketch) or as bitmap files (.bmp, .jpg).

Display your drawing as your screen saver. You can use the free Sketch and Smudge Screen Saver to play the drawings created with Sketch Studio. You'll watch as Sketch and Smudge recreate your drawing.

Most people have a natural instinct to draw. They pick up a pencil or crayon as a child and just start drawing without thinking about it. Some children continue to draw as they mature while others stop for one reason or another. It's never too late to start drawing again and Sketch Studio can help you get started. You'll feel like a kid again!

One of the best features is the built-in drawing lessons. The lesson range from simply coloring in a picture to drawing a realistic looking kitten. Sketch and Smudge show you how to draw 14 different pictures.

Lesson 1 - Coloring and Blending

The first lesson is easy. It starts out as the outline of a tree frog. All you have to do is watch Sketch and Smudge color it in and copy what they do. Although it seems easy, it teaches you how to select colors, brush sizes and to use the powerful smudging feature.

Lesson 2 - Simple Freehand Drawing with Blending

The second lesson starts with the outline of a clownfish. You watch Sketch and Smudge draw the interior lines and then color it in. This lesson introduces simple line drawing combined with color blending.

Lesson 3 - Blending and Extended Freehand Drawing

The third lesson starts out by simply coloring in the tulip on the left. Sketch and Smudge then show you how to freehand draw the tulip on the right and color it in.

Lesson 4 - Freehand Drawing Only

In the fourth lesson you'll draw a jellyfish. Although it looks complex, after completing the first three lessons the jellyfish should be relatively easy.
